Use this page to configure if or when the host will receive ADT messages from one or more practices. You specify which events should cause an ADT message to be sent: patient creation, patient update, or order transmission.

Establishing ADT Events

1. The ADT Events page contains a list of practices for which the selected host should receive demographics. The list will only include the practices you have the rights to assign.
2. To add a specific practice, enter one or more characters in the field, and then click the Search button to select the practice in the Practice Search page. See the Admin: Practice Search topic.
3. To add an event for all practices, click the Add System Event button.
4. For each practice, you may select which events should cause Copia to send an ADT message to the host. If you are modifying the "All Practices" system event, then Copia will send demographic information to the host if the selected events occur for any practice.
   • At Patient Create: Select this option to have Copia send demographic information to the host when users create patients for this practice.
   • At Patient Update: Select this option to have Copia send demographic information to the host when users update records for patients who belong to this practice.
   • At Encounter Create: Select this option to have Copia send an ADT message to the configured host whenever an encounter is created in the Copia user interface.
   • At Encounter Update: Select this option to have Copia send encounter information to the host when users update records for encounters.
   • At Patient Merge: Select this option to have Copia send ADT merge messages when a patient is merged. When enabled, Copia will send HL7 ADT^A40 merge messages to hosts that are configured to receive a merge message when a patient is merged, unless that host triggered the merge.
   • At Order Create: Select this option to have Copia generate an ADT message when a new order is saved.
   • At Sample Collect: Select this option to have Copia generate an ADT message when a sample is collected.
   • At Order Send: Select this option to have Copia send demographic information to the host when orders are sent from this practice to the host. Click the Exceptions button to select using the ADT Host Exceptions page one or more hosts for which, if the order choice originated on the order due to an electronic message (result, order, order request) from that host, Copia should not send the ADT for that ADT event.    • At Order Send Non-client Bill: Select this option to have Copia send an ADT message only when an electronic order is sent to a lab and when that order has an order choice with a billing status other than client bill. Click the Exceptions button to select using the ADT Host Exceptions page one or more hosts for which, if the order choice originated on the order due to an electronic message (result, order, order request) from that host, Copia should not send the ADT for that ADT event. 5. Select an option from the Limit Per Patient drop-down list to set the limit for the generation of ADT messages for a specific host to unlimited, one ADT message per day, one ADT message per day per patient record, or one ADT per order/split order group.
6. To remove a practice from the list, click the X button in the Remove column that corresponds to the practice. If you remove a practice, Copia will no longer send demographics for this practice to the host.
7. Select the If the ADT Event is "At Order Send," send the ADT message before the order message checkbox to have Copia send the ADT message before the order message if the ADT Event is "At Order Send."
8. Select an option from the If the ADT Event is "At Sample Collect," "At Order Send," or "At Order Send Non-client Bill," populate PV1 segment with Collection Location drop-down list that will allow the "PV1-11" field in ADT messages to be populated with the collection location after samples in the order have been marked as collected.
9. Select the Send encounter diagnosis code mappings in ADT messages checkbox to have Copia send encounter diagnosis code mappings in ADT messages.
• Select the Send diagnosis code mappings for associated orders checkbox to have Copia send diagnosis code mappings for all associated orders.
10. Click the OK button to add ADT events to the Interface Configuration page, or click the Cancel button to return to the preceding page without selecting a practice. Repeat the search if desired.
11. Select the desired practice to return to the preceding page with that practice added to the page or field. If you are assigning practices from the Users administration page, click the name of the practice on the Practice Search page to then assign user roles on the Practice Search role page.
