Use the Enter Specimen Part pop-up to enter specimen source and part information for the selected specimen on the Order Patient Samples page.

Accessing this Page

• Enter a search into the Order Choice Search field on the Order Patient Samples page and select an order choice. Click the Add Selected Item button and the Enter Specimen Part pop-up will appear.

1. The Enter Specimen Part pop-up allows you to enter specimen and part information for the specimen that you added through the Order Choice Search pop-up.
2. There are three fields of information that you may enter information into: Category, Source, and Number of parts. In the Category field, enter information regarding the category of the specimen source, or click the search button to view a list of specimen source categories and if the specimen source category is active. In the Source field, enter information regarding the source of the specimen, or click the search button to view a list of sources for the specimen. If there are multiple pages of options available, use the arrow buttons to navigate through the list. In the Number of parts field, enter the number of parts that you wish to be assigned to the specimen source. If you enter "3" into the field, there will be three pages of part information for the specimen. A specimen source group field will appear if a group exists.
3. Click the Save button when you have entered all necessary information. By clicking the Save button, you will be directed to the Specimen Part Details pop-up. See the Specimen Part Details Pop-up topic.
